Frequently Asked Questions

LED ACRYLIC LIGHT PANELS

WHAT IS THE LEAD TIME?

It all depends on what sizes you need and how many you need. Our lead times are relatively short. We manufacture and ship in 1 to 3 weeks. We ship small packages by common carriers and use trucking companies to ship medium to large orders.

WHAT IS AN ACRYLIC LIGHT PANEL?

An Acrylic Light Panel is made up of a laser engraved acrylic with LEDs on the edges. With special way of engraving, our Acrylic Light Panels emit very even light.

WHAT ARE THE APPLICATIONS OF ACRYLIC LIGHT PANELS?

Acrylic Light Panels are used to illuminated any translucent material, i.e. posters, Onyx, artworks, etc. The panels are not framed, and you can placed them behind your object by different means.

WHAT ARE THE LARGEST AND SMALLEST SIZES YOU MAKE?

The largest size of the Acrylic Light Panel we make is 48" X 96", and the smallest is 5" X 10".

WHAT COLOR TEMPERATURES CAN I ORDER?

We make our light panels with 4100K (Daylight) and 6500K (Cool White) LEDs.

ARE THE LED ACRYLIC LIGHT PANELS DIMMABLE?

Yes, our LED Acrylic Light Panels are dimmable. However, you need to decide between two ways of dimming them. 1) Dimming them with a low voltage dimmer, where you connect the power supply to a dimmer that comes with a remote, and then connect the dimmer to the light panel (all done with simple male-female connections), or 2) Use a dimmable power supply, in which case you need an electrician to connect all to a wall dimmer.

WHAT IS THE WATTAGE OF THE ACRYLIC LIGHT PANELS?

It all depends on the size of the panel. A simple way to estimate the wattage is to multiply the length of the longer side by 1.4. For example, if the panel is 24" X 36", the power consumption will be 36 X 1.4 = 50 watts.

CAN I ILLUMINATE ONYX WITH ACRYLIC LIGHT PANELS?

Yes. Our acrylic light panels are very bright, and a good option to backlit Onyx and other translucent stones up to 36" X 96". For larger ones, our Backlit Light Panels are better options.

WHAT IS THE THICKNESS OF ACRYLIC LIGHT PANEL?

The light panel is only 3/8" thick.

IS THIS LIGHT PANEL FRAMED IN ANY WAY?

No. There is no frame. The panel is a laser engraved acrylic, with LEDs on the edges. We put a special reflective tape all around the panel, which is 1/2" wide, to cover the LEDs that are placed in the panel.

IS THE ACRYLIC PANEL EDGELIT OR BACKLIT?

It's edgelit. But since it's engraved acrylic reflects the light throughout the panel, the panel can be called backlit.

HOW EVEN THE LIGHT ON AN ACRYLIC LIGHT PANEL IS?

With some special technics, we make the acrylic light panels up to %85 even.

HOW BRIGHT IS THE LIGHT PANEL?

Our light panels are 280 lumen or more.

CAN WE PUT TWO OR MORE PANLES SIDE BY SIDE?

Yes, but it's not ideal. When you put light panels side by side, and put your object on top, you will notice a dark line on you object. To avoid that, you need to hold your object 1/2" or more away from the light panel.

WHAT TYPE OF ACRYLIC SHEET IS USED IN YOUR PRODUCTS?

We use the highest grade cast acrylic (optical grade) to produce the LGP used in our products. The acrylic used in our products does not turn yellow with time.

WILL THE REFLECTION OF LIGHT FADE WITH TIME?

The reflection ratio of our displays will not change with time since we use mechanical etching in the production of our displays. Be aware of products that use printing technology to reflect light off the LGP (Light Guide Panel). The cheaper printed (vs. etched) LGP used by our competition lose their reflection properties within 2 years and the brightness of those displays fades very quickly.
